Weill Cornell Students

The longitudinal global health curriculum at Weill Cornell allows interested students to get involved from the start of their medical training. The curriculum includes didactic seminar series, diverse international elective experiences, and IMSE sponsored activities to promote education and networking within the WCM Global Health Community. First year students can opt to participate in a Global/Local Health Equity Clinical Preceptorship and the Introduction to Global Health Seminar Series.  Students have the opportunity to apply for funded international elective experiences to enhance their understanding of health care systems and care delivery in other countries. Some students choose to participate in mentored global health research projects during the summer after their first year or as part of an AOC scholarly project.  Other students choose to apply for an international clinical elective during their fourth year at one of our partner sites. All students who participate in international electives are required to attend a comprehensive pre-departure workshop and complete an online Global Health Ethics course.
