¹⁸F-FDG Alzheimer's Study

A study is ongoing that examines patterns of glucose metabolic uptake in patients presenting with various stages of Alzheimer's disease. PET uptake patterns will be registered with CT and MRI scans of the same patient. CBIC houses both the PET/CT and 3.0 Tesla MRI scanners in the same area allowing patients to receive both scans during the same visit. This allows for more accurate voxel based morphometry analysis and will prove of great benefit in determining the neurological and anatomical effects of various treatment efficacies.
